Default Obama Blunder?

When meeting the Queen of England, Michele Obama broke protocol and put her arm around the Queen, which some consider to be a major mistake.

One side, we should respect and know the protocols of foreign leaders, the other side is The Queen isn't our (America's) queen and we fought and won the War of Indepence and the War of 1812.

Is this a big deal or not?

She should have been more culturally aware, but I'm sure the Queen won't make any bones about it.

It's not like the Queen is of any import anyways. After all, Monocratic rule died off in England a very long time ago. So to make this clear: A powerless figurehead of the United States, the first lady, puts her arm around the powerless figurehead of the United Kingdom, the Queen. If people want to make mountains out of molehills go for it but I'm not buying. Now if Mrs. Obama gave the Queen the bird, now there's something to be ticked about.

depends:

Did she absolutely know better?

Was she briefed by the Queen's people.

Did the Queen know it was going to happen?

Was she making a statement?

Was she just being herself, which i think she was. She's a hugger. We've seen it before.

I say, if the Queen Ain't got a problem, then we ain't got a problem.

It came out that the queen actually put her arm around Michelle Obama first. IMO, this means the First Lady was 100% correct.
