The Specter Flip

Alrighty, Specter flew the GOP coup and landed in Democrat territory. It's obviously another big win for the Dems and another loss for the GOP but the question begs to be asked: Is the GOP becoming further and further alienated from the heart of society?

It seems any more that the GOP is supported by bible-thumpers that want a theocracy installed in America, a large section of America but overall the minority that for years the GOP has pandered to for a solid southern win.

Also, is it time for the non-theocrats of the GOP to separate themselves from the GOP? Align behind the Libertarians, (I WISH!) or form an off shoot of the GOP?
